Vase / Candle Holder / Functional Sculpture
A contemporary reinterpretation of the Bunga Mas (Golden Tree) tradition through a vase and candle holder inspired by roadside blossoms—particularly the small purple flowers of the eggplant plant.
Cast in brass, the structure forms delicate branching stems and clustered floral elements that resemble small wild shrubs in bloom. Decorative components draw inspiration from the ornamental structures of traditional Bunga Mas tribute trees and brass ceremonial adornments.
Eggplant flowers are humble blossoms commonly found in gardens and rural landscapes across Thailand. By elevating these modest plants through a golden sculptural form, the work transforms everyday flora into a poetic object celebrating the vitality of spring and the fleeting beauty of nature.
