INEI RAISAN

Sushi Plate

INEI RAISAN: Shadow of Bo Sang on the Sushi Table Transforming the structure of the Bo Sang umbrella into a sushi serving plate that bridges Thai craft and Japanese culinary aesthetics.

Inspired by the bamboo and mulberry paper umbrellas of Bo Sang Village. Combined with Urushi lacquerware techniques from Doi Saket, layered with gold leaf to enhance subtle shadow and low-sheen reflections aligned with the Japanese concept of sabi.

Bo Sang umbrellas represent Northern Thai handicraft heritage, while Japanese cuisine values restraint, shadow, and presentation. INEI RAISAN merges these traditions into an elevated sushi plateau where light, gold, lacquer, and paper interact—transforming dining into a refined cross-cultural ritual.
