Flower Vase & Candle Holder
SOLIFLORE: Unadorned Nature and the Beauty of Impermanence A sculptural brass tree functioning as both candle holder and flower vase, reflecting nature in its authentic state—unembellished, fragile, and transient—while encouraging environmental awareness.
A monumental brass tree structure rises organically, branching in a free and irregular rhythm. Brass flower cups hold candles, while the branching structure supports fresh flowers. The design originated from a visit to Phra Sri Mahathat Temple Museum It reinterprets the Southeast Asian tradition of Bungamas (Thai money tree offering)—gold and silver trees once offered as royal tribute and devotional objects.
Historically, ceremonial trees symbolized prosperity and devotion.
SOLIFLORE shifts this symbolism toward ecological reflection. The candle slowly melts; the flower inevitably fades. Both elements embody impermanence.
The work presents nature not as ornament, but as living process—temporary, vulnerable, and real. Through contemporary functionality, it reconnects ritual heritage with environmental consciousness, inviting viewers to reconsider their relationship with the natural world.
